John is a phenomenal trainer. When i started at Primal Fitness i was about 200 lb’s. Due to johns intensive training i was able to reach my normal weight of 175 lb’s withing 4 months. John’s training is by far is the best and most efficient way of getting in shape. I also had my mother try one of his classes and she is hooked, showing a difference in a week. His workouts do not discriminate, push ups, pull ups we do it all. I highly recommend Primal Fitness.

One thing I love/hate about this place is that regardless of how long its been since I last worked out they take no prisoners. Any other place if you stop you stop, here you may stop (because you feel like you are failing, failing yourself) but not for long…

This is my third week…I’m hooked. The best work out ever. John is truly unbelievable. Everyone is friendly and no one ever feels out of place. I am so glad I tried this. Just one hour a day…a complete workout, something different every day so you don’t get bored. When done I feel great!

This gym has the ‘personal’ touch. Never mind the fantastic workouts-my body has never been more toned or sculpted-the encouragement and sense of belonging is a welcome change to the gym scene. Never once have I been made to feel bad if I didn’t know how to do something or was doing it wrong. The encouragement to finish those last reps and push yourself beyond what you thought possible is uplifting. The personal connections to the trainers and other members is priceless.

I have trained by myself doing crossfit 2 years before coming to Howard Beach Crossfit. Even with 2 years under my belt there were things i still needed to be taught and be shown. You need someone to push you and show you how to do these exercises correctly. If you don’t you will hit a speed bump like i did and will not see results that you should be getting. IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA AND LIKE DOING CROSSFIT COME HERE AND BE READY TO WORK HARD!

John is a great trainer and teacher. He works directly with you at your skill level and helps you to improve your form so that you can really optimize your work out. His knowledge of muscle mechanics really shows through in his explanations of technique and he really pushes everyone to meet and surpass their limits. If you are in the area and want to get in shape come in and take the trial.

I started at the beginning of February. I took it in stride as i had trained before. Though, i had no clue what i was truly getting myself into.
John’s {the prime architect of this Gym} work outs force you to eat healthy during the day or you will pay for it the next time around.
There are challenges that are set for you daily that can be conquerable if you train with the right mind set. The trainers at this specific gym help you get the right technique down. They’re emphatic about it because they absolutely with out any doubt enjoy and love what they do. Once you try it, you’ll see what i’m talking about.
To put it mildly, i got struck with a serious flu about a week ago and felt worse about missing these classes than the symptoms that over took me. Reason being, i have to start from scratch. Though i’m confident that this minor set back will propel me back to where i was before. Hell, i know it…i have no choice, John wouldn’t want any thing less.
Very very overly satisfied with having a regimen of this caliber in my area.
    Thanks Guys

Ive been coming to the gym for over a month, started off only coming a couple times a week, but after about 3 weeks of eating right and finally getting used to everything, i always cant wait for the next day to do the next workout. Ive lost 13 pounds in about 3 weeks. I was a perfect example of being unmotivated and hated working out but after taking these classes with John and Jennie as the instructors, you find that they are always pushing you to do better and it helps when you have people who actually care instead of working out at a regular gym and constantly seeing no results. Give yourself 2-3 weeks and i GUARANTEE you’ll see results and love coming everyday as well!

Crossfit in Howard Beach is awesome! I’m a 24 yr old who never workouts so when my friend told me about this I laughed, thinking “here goes another gym membership i’ll never use”. WRONG! This is a gym membership that I have actively been using in my first 2 weeks alone! I have two great friends who also seem hooked from the start and join me on my way to the classes. John is so receptive to the concerns of each person in the class, it’s hard not to want to work out with his positive attitude. I struggle through the workouts but I push myself harder each time I go because I’ve noticed that burning sensation is actually good!
I can’t say enough good things about this gym – can’t knock it until you try it. I’m still in the beginning stages but my assumption would be I can only get better – right?!?
Thanks for the motivation Crossfit Team!
